Bryan-College Station has more going on than most people expect. Whether you’re looking to sing badly in public, test your useless knowledge, or catch some live music on a weeknight, there’s something happening almost every night of the week. Here’s the rundown on everything local, so gather your friends and head on out.

Live Music

A few reliable weekly spots to know:

  • The Owl hosts live music on Wednesdays at 7pm
  • The Palace Theater runs an open mic Wednesday nights at 7pm
  • The 101 has open mic on Wednesdays at 9pm
  • The Angry Elephant goes live on Tuesdays at 7pm
  • Cadillac Ranch Bar & Grill has live music Friday and Saturday at 7pm, and a DJ on Sundays — and yes, there’s a lakeside dancefloor where you can dance under the big Texas sky
  • Word of Mouth Speakeasy runs a comedy open mic on Tuesdays at 9pm — check the website before you go to get the Speakeasy password

First Fridays in downtown Bryan always include live music — worth putting on the calendar if you’re in the area.

For summer events especially, keep an eye on LakeWalk — their lineup fills up fast. Other venues worth checking for upcoming shows: KinderHill Brew Lab & Kitchen, Blackwater Draw Brewery, Hershel’s Bar, and Carney’s Pub.

Trivia

Got a head full of useless knowledge? Put it to work. Trivia nights run across both sides of town, so there’s almost always one close to wherever you land:

Pop-up events also happen at POV Coffee at LakeWalk and Messina Hof Winery — follow them for surprise additions to the calendar.

Karaoke

For the brave, the committed, or the ones who’ve had exactly enough courage — karaoke is alive and well in BCS:

Whether your stay is just a weekend or you’re settling in for a while, B/CS has live music, open mic, trivia, and karaoke covered. Grab your crew and head downtown. And when the night’s done and your vocal chords need a break, come rest your shells with us.
