One of our splendid wintertime inhabitants is a remote worker. This lady boss loves Galloping Snails’ sprawling private showers and the peaceful tranquility of the park. She also loves the flexibility of having two dog parks to give her dog the roaming space he needs without being overcrowded.

Our park also hosts several university mavericks who chose brains over bunks by trading in the traditional dorm experience for an RV instead. Close proximity to Texas A&M University (howdy Aggies!) means affordable housing sans expensive campus fees, all while enjoying quiet nights rather than noisy neighbors. Best of all? No need for a car! Biking to campus is a breeze thanks to our location, just a bit over 6 miles away.

Navasota & Washington on the Brazos (Travel Time: 30 Min) Also known as the Blues Captial of Texas, Navasota is rich with local art, antiques, and a rich history. You can easily combine a trip to Navasota with a stop in Washington on the Brazos, a top historical site in Texas and the place where Texas began!

Brenham (Travel Time: 45 Min) If you (or your kids) scream for ice cream, then Brenham is a must-stop along your winter snowbirding adventure as it is home to the Blue Bell Creamery; sample some of your favorite flavors as you check out the factory.

Round Top (Travel Time: 60 min) This tiny town of only 90 inhabitants is famous for its gigantic antique shows. You’ll shop to your heart’s content at unique shops like the Junk Gypsy or stroll around Heritage Square for authentic handmade local merchandise.

Austin (Travel Time: 1 hr, 45min) From the bars and restaurants of 6th Street to State Government along South Congress, Austin is a city that has it all! Check out Zilker Metro Park and Botanical Gardens for great photo opportunities, or tour the town’s vast collection of public art.
