There’s something about fall in College Station that just hits different. The energy of football season fills the air, maroon and white flags wave from RVs, grills are sizzling by 9 a.m., and chants of “Gig ‘Em” echo across town. Whether you’re a first-time tailgater or a seasoned Aggie fan, here’s your guide to prepping for game day weekends in Bryan-College Station.

Book Early: Football Season = High Demand

Fall weekends at Galloping Snail RV Park fill up fast.

  • All sites are full price during football season. No discounts apply.
  • Planning ahead is key. Once the Aggie football schedule drops, book your spot, no ifs, ands, or butts in tailgate chairs if you fail to plan ahead.

Game Day Setup Checklist

Transform your RV into tailgate HQ with these must-haves:

  • Folding chairs, shade canopy, and outdoor rugs
  • Table for snacks and drinks
  • Portable grill or electric griddle
  • Mini outdoor speaker (keep it friendly!)
  • Battery-powered fans or misting bottles

Add a splash of maroon with flags, string lights, and Aggie-themed tableware. Bonus points for boots on the mat and good vibes all around.

No Ticket? No Problem

Not heading into Kyle Field? You’ve still got great options:

  • Watch it local: The Tap, Chicken Oil Co., and Dixie Chicken are all local legends.
  • Or chill in our clubhouse: With AC, comfy seating, and a big screen, it’s the next best thing to being in the stands (and a lot quieter).

Where to Go to Get Your Aggie Gear

You can’t tailgate without repping your team. Luckily, Aggieland has you covered:

Getting to the Game

There’s no shuttle from Galloping Snail, but that doesn’t mean you’re out of options:

  • Bryan’s Game Day Shuttle and TAMU’s park-and-ride services are your best bet.
  • Rideshare is another option if you don’t want the hassle of parking, riding and getting back and forth.
  • Leave early, check for road closures, and bring patience, game day traffic is real.

RV Park Etiquette (Especially on Game Weekends)

We love a good party, but we also love our neighbors. Keep these tips in mind:

  • Respect quiet hours and clean up your tailgate zone
  • Don’t hog extra parking spots or block other rigs
  • If you’re unsure where to park an extra vehicle, ask up first!

Snail Tip: Prep Ahead, Chill Later

Game day gets busy, fast. Use our clubhouse kitchen to prep snacks and meals ahead of time, or toss something together post-game while cooling off indoors. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, and bug spray, this is still Texas, after all.
